Integrated Pest Management School and Community Meeting
Posted by on August 18, 2008
Over the past 6 years, the Philadelphia School & Community Partnership has grown to over 250 individuals concerned about safer pest management in Philadelphia schools and communities. Once a year we come together for updates on projects of mutual interest, to discuss new approaches and learn from keynote speakers.
This year’s meeting will be held on September 24 from 11:00-2:00 p.m. at the Poison Control
Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), 3535 Market Street. The keynote speaker will be
Dr. Kevin Osterhoudt.
Dr. Osterhoudt is an environmental toxicologist, a pediatrician, an ER staffer, a medical researcher and author. He has over 10 years of experience at the CHOP Poison Control Center (PCC) where he currently serves as Medical Director. He has won numerous awards for teaching at CHOP and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he is on the faculty. Dr. Osterhoudt’s talk, “The Poison Control Center: Of Pests and Poisons”, will focus on PCC’s mission, findings on pesticide exposures of children and
recent rodenticide issues.
