Training series shapes leaders among disabled
Beginning in February, the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University will present a free leadership development training series, Competence and Confidence: Partners in Policymaking/ Emerging and Established Leaders (C2P2/EEL), which will take place in Harrisburg. The institute is seeking participants with disabilities who are interested in either becoming, or enhancing their skills as, active leaders and advocates in their communities.
Emerging leaders will attend all five training sessions, participate in a summer internship and be matched with an experienced leader. Established leaders will attend three training sessions tailored to enhance their leadership skills and mentor and coach a future leader.
Meals are included and travel reimbursements are available. Sleeping rooms will be provided to those traveling over 40 miles. All sessions will be held on Friday’s from 1-9pm and Saturdays from 9am-3pm at the Temple University, Harrisburg Campus. The deadline for applications is February 8th.
