Critical Questions for Campus-Community Partnerships in the 21st Century

Cabrini College’s Common Good Symposium
Friday, March 26, 2010   9:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Many campus-community partnerships have shifted paradigms from service to solidarity—from working for those who are vulnerable to working with them.   The next steps pose challenging questions:   What does solidarity mean when it comes to negotiating power and priorities?   How to balance students’ learning and the empowerment of the poor?  Institutional needs for stability and market-share, and grassroots desires to expand access or challenge systems?

A partner of the Borough of Norristown and Catholic Relief Services, Cabrini College is proud to be among the many colleges and universities in the Mid-Atlantic area who are committed to integrating local and global partnership into social justice education.  Faculty and agency representatives who are engaged in partnerships—or who are curious about the critical questions they struggle with—are welcome to attend this symposium.
