PPTF workshop focuses on LGBT homeless youth
The Public/Private Task Force on Homelessness will present a workshop on homelessness in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth on Tuesday, November 24th from 9-11am at the People’s Emergency Center, 325 North 39th Street in Philadelphia.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning homeless youth are among the most underserved populations by the homeless shelter system. The purpose of the workshop is to provide training for shelter staff who work with this demographic.
The training will discuss how to create opportunities for youth to develop into healthy, independent, civic-minded adults within a safe community, and to work to promote the acceptance of LGBTQ youth in shelter.
