Green Jobs Initiative Press Conference

I am pleased to announce that Mayor Nutter is holding a press conference related to ITSRG’s Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) funded summer youth program, BITS. The press conference will showcase the importance of educating Philadelphia Youth to pursue their educational goals that will support the development of a Philadelphia-based green workforce in the years to come.
The event will be held at Temple’s Technology Center next Wednesday, June 24 from 3 – 3:45 pm.
Mayor Nutter will make brief comments related to the city’s needs and priorities. Afterwords representatives of Philadelphia Youth Network and funded organizations that are hosting green jobs for youth this summer will give short presentations related to their respective programs. ITSRG will present our service learning project with Friends of the Wissahickon and our internship project with environmental research centers across campus.
You are cordially invited to attend the press conference. You will have an opportunity to meet with members of the press both prior to and after the event. Also, we will feature our collaborative plans with all of our partners in our comments and materials presented at the event.
