Minority-Based Community Clinical Oncology Program

Program: Minority-Based Community Clinical Oncology Program.
Eligibility: Hospitals, clinics, physician groups, HMOs and related consortia. To qualify, at least 40% of newly diagnosed cancer patients must be from minority populations.
Funds: Up to $2.2 million per year for five years will be available to fund up to three awards.
Deadline: July 22, 2002.
Summary: This minority-based CCOP initiative is designed to bring advanced cancer treatment, prevention and control research to minority individuals in their own communities by having practicing physicians and their patients participate in NCI-approved cancer-treatment trials. Applicants must demonstrate the potential for accessing appropriate cancer patients within communities. Companion NIH grant listing follows.
