Center in the Park June Events
Center in the Park has a full schedule of events in June aimed at ?celebrating positive aging.?
Members will present their own poetry ? guaranteed t ?make you laugh, cry and think? ? at the Poetry Reading and Guitars in the Park even on Thursday, June 14th. CIP?s Tap Group will hold its year-end Tap Dance performance on Tuesday, June 19 and there will be a Drama and Storytelling Performance on Wednesday, June 20th. All events will take place beginning at 1pm in the CIP Auditorium.
On Thursday, June 21st from 10-11am, CIP will sponsor a ?Don?t Borrow Trouble? workshop with its Housing Counselor, Adriane Thomas, who will talk about protecting yourself and your assets from predatory loans and solicitations. Learn how to target bad loans and gain knowledge of alternative low interest loans or other home repair options. Registration is requested for this free event by contacting Ms. Thomas at 215-849-5100, ext. 315.
Other events in June include CIP?s Annual Spring Bazaar on Thursday, June 21st from 10am to 3pm; a workshop on the ins and outs of hospice care on Tuesday, June 26th, at 10am; and a Piano Recital at 1pm on the same day.
Center in the Park, located at 5818 Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia, is a community center that promotes positive aging and fosters community connections for older adults in Northwest Philadelphia whose voices are critical instruments in shaping its activities and direction.
