Deadline Extended: Scholarships for National Conference on Volunteering and Service

The National Conference on Volunteering and Service will convene in Philadelphia, PA, July 16-18, 2007. On behalf of the 2007 National Conference Host Committee, we are pleased to announce that a limited number of registration scholarships are available to nonprofit and national service organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Region, including southern New Jersey and northern Delaware.

Sponsored by the Points of Light Foundation and the Corporation for National and Community Service, the Conference provides an extraordinary opportunity to inspire and fortify leaders who mobilize people to service. Share practical knowledge, network, and receive the training you need to be a leader in your community and part of the volunteering and national service movement.

The theme for this year?s Conference is ?The Power of We?. This theme proudly declares the power of collective action to solve our problems ? a hallmark of America?s character since our founding that is more important today than ever before.

We encourage and invite diverse community members and all ages to apply for a registration scholarship. Scholarships will cover the registration fee only. There will be additional expenses including travel, hotel accommodations and food, if applicable. It is important that the applicant and organization determine if they can cover the additional conference expenses prior to applying. We kindly ask that organizations apply for assistance only after they have exhausted all avenues of local fundraising. Upon receipt of your application, the Host Committee will review and selections will be made based on greatest need.
