SAVE THE DATE: SAFER STREETS COMMUNITY FORUM
On Friday, January 19, 2007, Mayor John F. Street is convening the United We Stand for Operation Safer Streets Community Forum to bring together elected officials, community based organizations, researchers, law enforcement officers, business leaders, government officials, social services providers, town watch members, block captains, ex-offenders, clergy and youth groups to review Operation Safer Streets and review a strategic plan for promoting public safety in 2007.
The forum topics include dialogue with experts in juvenile crime; the connection between the economy and crime; COMPSTAT; programs for ex-offenders; an examination of Operation Safer Streets, Philadelphia?s comprehensive violence reduction initiative; and other important endeavors to reduce crime in our communities.
The Community Forum is Friday, January 19th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Sheraton Philadelphia City Center Hotel at 17th and Race Streets.
