Introducing School-Friendly Health System Principles to Improve Delivery of Health Services and Outcomes in Schools
May 27th at 2pm EST
Presented by Desiree de la Torre, MBA, MPH and Julia DeAngelo, MPH
In 2019, Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., launched an initiative to articulate principles of a school-friendly health system (SFHS) based on lessons learned from nationally recognized baby-friendly hospitals and age-friendly health systems initiatives. In this session, the presenters will share draft SFHS principles and engage with attendees about how they are partnering with the health sector and what is needed to improve services and relationships. We will also share examples of how Children’s National has partnered with our local school districts during the COVID-19 pandemic to support recovery and reopening plans.
