Webinar: Research Spotlight: Helping Homeless Students “Beat the Odds” – May 10
Posted by To&Through Project on April 19, 2022
What strategies or practices can schools implement to better support homeless students? Join us on Tuesday, May 10, 1:00-2:00 PM to learn about a recent partnership between the UChicago Inclusive Economy Lab and Chicago Public Schools to investigate the causes and consequences of student homelessness in Chicago. Study authors Dr. Shantá Robinson and Dr. Kelly Hallberg will share findings from this qualitative and quantitative research, which highlight service gaps and suggest potential interventions for students and their families who are experiencing homelessness.
Opportunity for post-event discussion: Previous Research Spotlight attendees have requested opportunities to come together after the event and reflect on what they heard. In response to these requests, we will hold an optional, half-hour Zoom meeting immediately after the event for attendees to convene in breakout rooms and explore a reflection question posed by the featured researchers with fellow audience members. Our audience typically spans across district central offices, nonprofits, higher education institutions, and more.
