Webinar: Learning from Courageous Conversations – Mar 5
Posted by NASW-PA on January 27, 2026
Keva White, MSW, and John Kepner, J.D. are the producers of the Race to Social Justice Podcast, a series of over forty comprehensive interviews with experts covering a wide range of racial and social justice themes including: the Black experience in America; social services; criminal justice; music, poetry, art and sports; religion; and gender. Their goal is to promote racial and social equity and justice through honest, even sometimes difficult, “Courageous Conversations.” After meeting at one of Keva’s trainings over 10 years ago, Keva and John found that their discussions deepen their own understandings of racism. That led them to invite guests to share their honest experiences and learnings. Keva and John will tell us why and how they started the podcast series, what they have learned from their guests and about each other in the process and ideas they are exploring to broaden the podcast’s future reach.
Participants will:
- Learn how a Black guy and White guy, born at different times and from very backgrounds, found common ground leading to a deeper understanding of racism through candid conversation.
- Gain an appreciation of why people working in a variety of fields have had their passions for social justice shaped by their elders and educational experiences at very early ages.
- Hear real stories of podcast participants that will inspire hope for the advancement of racial and social justice.
Date and Time: Thursday, March 5, 1:00-2:30 PM
