Webinar: Help BIPOC Students End the Year with Positive Literacy Experiences – Feb 10
Posted by ASCD on February 8, 2022
Join us for a new, free webinar, Help BIPOC Students End the Year with Positive Literacy Experiences, presented by Kimberly Parker.
Explore best practices for working with ELA classroom communities and ensuring cultural relevance. In this webinar, we’ll examine ways to evaluate your current literacy practice, especially when it comes to implementing diverse literature with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students.
Parker will guide you as you consider how to approach the remainder of the school year, helping support your implementation of three practices aimed to strengthen classroom communities and student achievement: independent choice reading, classroom libraries, and preparing yourself for the critical conversations that diverse texts invite. You’ll leave ready to support students’ literacy lives and work with them to ensure your classroom is a place where they will succeed.
Date and Time: Thursday, February 10, 2022, 3:00 PM
