Posted by AmeriCorps on April 18, 2023
Join AmeriCorps’ Office of Research and Evaluation for our “Reigniting Civic Life” webinar series following the release of the 2021 Civic Engagement and Volunteering Supplement.
Engaging individuals and communities to deliberate and problem solve advances equity and fairness, and serves as a basis for a thriving democracy. How can we use participatory research as a pathway for community engagement? What are the outcomes to doing this work for researchers and their communities?
This webinar will showcase how one participatory research project in Nevada brought together youth scientists from high schools, university researchers and students, nonprofit partners, and national service members to learn how to identify and tackle community priorities. We will hear the triumphs, challenges, and continued ripple effects that come from authentically engaging community residents.

- Andrea Robles, Ph.D., research manager, AmeriCorps
- Melissa Gouge, Ph.D., research analyst, AmeriCorps
- Jennifer Willett, Ph.D., project director and researcher
