Virtual Event: Volunteering and Civic Life in America During the Pandemic: The Path Forward – Jan 25
Posted by AmeriCorps on January 24, 2023
The COVID-19 pandemic impacted every aspect of American life, straining public and nonprofit services and exacerbating longstanding inequities. Still, Americans came together, offering help and hope to their communities by supporting immunization clinics, food banks, isolated seniors, and tutoring students to help them stay on track in school. Now, America faces significant economic and social challenges that make service and civic engagement more important than ever.
In partnership with Points of Light, National Conference on Citizenship, and Independent Sector, AmeriCorps is hosting a virtual event, Volunteering and Civic Life During the Pandemic: The Path Forward, to hear from government, nonprofit, and civic leaders about how Americans positively impacted their communities during the pandemic and how to move forward together to meet our current challenges. The event will feature a fireside chat with Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, a research overview, and interactive panel discussion with nonprofit and civic engagement leaders.
