Virtual Event: Coalition Conversation: Congress to Campus – Feb 16
Posted by Campus Compact on February 14, 2023
For more than 40 years, FMC’s flagship program, Congress to Campus, has provided college students with a unique civic education by engaging them in honest dialogue with bipartisan teams of Former Members of Congress, Congressional staff, and American diplomats. Whether sessions take place in-person on campus, or in a virtual format, these dialogues bring today’s issues to the forefront and showcase the benefits of healthy partisanship and civility within disagreement.
Come hear about how you can implement this program on your campus. Former US Representatives Tim Petri and Donna Edwards, along with Elizabeth Parmalee from MSU Denver will talk about engaging students in political conversation across the aisle.
One of CTC’s goals for 2023 is to continue to bring the program to a broader range of educational institutions such as Historically Black Colleges and Universities, women’s colleges, service academies, Hispanic Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges, Asian American and Pacific Islander Universities, and more. One way FMC is able to bring the program to underrepresented communities and schools is by partnering with The Park Foundation, who helps cover the lodging and program expenses for each school.
