POSITION TITLE:             Temporary Data and Outcomes Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:  The primary functions of the Data and Outcome Coordinator are to manage qualitative and quantitative data; perform basic data analysis, present and interpret data; communicate findings in internal and external reports for non-technical audiences; and, respond to staff data requests as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/SPECIFIC DUTIES:

•    Collects data and provides reports.
•    Prepares, maintains, and tracks a variety of data files, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
•    Provide information back to the requestor in the form of tables, graphs, and written analyses as specified by the Data and Outcomes Manager.
•    Maintain computer-based databases including entering data, requesting additions, reports, or modifications, and running reports for the purpose of communicating and compiling descriptive information regarding CYD’s training, technical assistance, and quality improvement activities.
•    Enter and analyze qualitative and quantitative data and provide trends and analyses for reporting and continuous improvement including:
o    Data Categorization – Define appropriate categories for coding the information collected
o    Data Coding –  Assign responses to data categories and recording
o    Creating Data File and Codebook  or Restructuring Current Data Files– Enter the data into the computer, create a data file or restructure existing data file, create/revise codebook to describe data file
o    Generating New Variables – New variables may be computed by data manipulations the multiply, sum, or otherwise transform variables
o    Tabulation – Summarize the responses to each variables included in the analysis
•    Synthesize information from various data sources for data reports.
•    Respond to data and information requests and perform administrative tasks as needed by the department.
•    Assist Data and Outcomes Manager with other data-related tasks to ensure that all data is entered, analyzed, and reported in a consistent and timely manner
•    Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

RESPONSIBILITY

Computer databases as well as electronic and hard copy data and data files

2.    Money:  (Identify the financial resources or tools the position is responsible for, such as currency, grant funds, budget development and management, expenses, etc)

Reports to Data and Outcomes Manager, and has close working relationships with Education’s Director, Quality Improvement Manager, Training/Professional Development Manager, Mentoring Manager, Senior Managers for Mentoring and for Quality Assurance.

4.    Accountability  (Describe the position’s autonomy for decision-making and action, and include freedom to act and describe impact on end results)

Data and Outcomes Manager should be included in all major decisions, but Data and Outcome Coordinator should be able to work independently and make competent decisions regarding day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES

1.    Type and Level of Education:
Minimum of BA or BS in Social Sciences-related discipline.  Masters Degree preferred.

2.    Technical or other skills:
•    Data Entry and Organization.
•    Basic Quantitative and Qualitative Data Analysis.
•    Data Reporting and Data Presentation including creating charts and graphs in Excel.
•    Intermediate to advanced skills in using Excel features and techniques for data management, quality control, and descriptive data analysis.
•    Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports that can easily be interpreted by end-users and stakeholders.
•    Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
•    Experience with ETO database is desirable.
•    Ability to be organized and pay attention to details.
•    Time and project management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver on competing priorities.

2.    Experience:
•    Four years of progressively responsible work experience relating to data management, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, data reporting, and data presentation required. Professional experience in research or academic context is highly desirable.
•    Demonstrated experience using intermediate to advanced Excel features and techniques required
•    Experience with ETO database is desirable

OTHER POSITION SPECIFICS

1.    Physical Requirements (standing, lifting, concentrated PC utilization): Ability to focus or concentrate on tasks in a fast paced, sometimes noisy environment. Abiility to use PC for extended periods of time.
