Survey for PA Urban Teachers: Perspectives on Equity
Posted by Pennsylvania Teachers Advisory Committee on June 8, 2021
The Pennsylvania Teachers Advisory Committee (PTAC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) collaborated to explore new ways to elevate the voice of teachers in urban settings into conversations about equity and inclusion in Pennsylvania Schools.
To support Pennsylvania’s focus on equity and inclusion, we are asking teachers in urban (large, mid-size, and small cities) settings across the Commonwealth to take this short survey, “Perspectives on Equity from Large and Small Urban Teachers in Pennsylvania,” which can be completed in about 10-15 minutes. The PTAC and PDE collaborative has released separate cohorts and surveys focusing on the experiences of rural and suburban teachers. The three survey’s will result in a culminating report later this summer. To make sure those responding can be as candid as possible, all responses will remain confidential and no identifying information will be shared outside of PTAC.
Education policy that is informed by teachers leads to better outcomes for students.
