Online Event: Stuck in Place: How Housing Policies Shape Mobility and Economic Opportunity – Apr 29

Posted by Bipartisan Policy Center on April 29, 2025

For generations, the ability to move to places with economic opportunity has driven upward mobility in the United States. But restrictive zoning laws and outdated land-use policies have stalled that engine, driving up housing costs and making it harder for people to live where jobs and opportunity are growing. As demand for homes rises, policymakers at all levels of government are grappling with how to expand supply and support households struggling to afford housing.

Join the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) for a panel discussion on how zoning and land-use reforms can expand housing supply, the policies needed to help families access areas of greater opportunity, and how federal, state, and local leaders can work together to unlock the housing market.
