Summer Course Preparation for Campus Compact Community Engagement Professional Credentialing

Merrimack College is partnering with Campus Compact to support the Community Engagement Professional Credentialing Program. We are offering an online course this summer that will prepare you for the community partnerships micro-credential.
ED 667G – University-Community Relations 4 credits | July 8 -August 16
This course is an exploration of patterns of communication, interaction, and relationships between institutions of higher education and their local and regional communities. The course examines how historical, social, cultural, and political forces impact such relationships and interactions, with a particular emphasis on issues of diversity. The Instructor, Dan Sarofian-Butin, Ph.D., is a Full Professor in, and was Founding Dean of, the School of Education & Social Policy at Merrimack College. He is the author and editor of almost 100 academic publications, including the books Service-Learning in Theory and Practice: The Future of Community Engagement in Higher Education and The Engaged Campus: Certificates, Minors, and Majors as the New Community Engagement.
