“Rise Again: Tulsa and The Red Summer” is a new documentary about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and the racial violence that preceded it. Directed and produced by Dawn Porter, the film follows Washington Post journalist and Oklahoma native DeNeen L. Brown as she reports on these events and the search for a mass grave in Tulsa.
On Thursday, June 17 at 2:00pm ET, Washington Post senior critic-at-large Robin Givhan speaks with Brown and Porter about what happened, the continued calls for justice for victims and survivors, and the lessons of history for today.
