Program Evaluation, Brady Education Foundation – Dec 1

Posted by Brady Education Foundation on October 27, 2020

The Brady Education Foundation seeks to close the opportunity and resulting achievement gap for children living in underresourced and/or underrepresented communities.

To advance this mission, the foundation welcomes proposals focused on the evaluation of programs with the potential to help close the opportunity and resulting achievement gap associated with race and family income.

The primary aim of the proposal must concern the evaluation of the effectiveness of programs designed to promote positive cognitive and/or achievement outcomes for children (birth through 18 years of age) from underserved groups and/or low-resourced communities (such as minoritized ethnic group and low-income families). Secondary aims may also focus on one or more of the following: variations in program effects (i.e., moderation effects that inform whether effects are stronger for certain groups and/or under certain conditions than other groups or conditions); mechanisms through which effects occur (i.e., mediation effects that inform why the program is effective); and total costs of the program (start-up and ongoing operational costs) compared to its estimated monetary benefits to determine the net cost or benefit associated with the program.

The foundation will award support for up to two key personnel from the evaluation team as well as one practitioner or service provider from the program to attend one conference the last (or only) year of the project, with an allowable cost of $1,500 per person. Projects may span up to three years.

To be eligible, applicants must be a principal investigator with a nonprofit as a home institution. Applicants at all career stages may apply.

Stage-one proposals are due December 1. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a stage-two proposal by April 1, 2021.
