Philadelphia City Institute Library: Teen Social Justice Fellowship – Sep 13
Posted by Free Library of Philadelphia on September 10, 2024
Attention teens age 14-19: Are you passionate about social justice? Are you looking for a unique learning/service opportunity? Philadelphia City Institute Library will be holding a Teen Social Justice Fellowship program this fall, and you could be a part of it!
We will select three Philadelphia teenagers, between the ages of 14-19, to complete a Social Justice Fellowship. Fellows will participate in four one-hour meetings to plan the Free Library of Philadelphia’s ninth annual Social Justice Symposium for young people. Meeting dates and times will be selected collaboratively by program participants. You should expect to also spend a few hours each week with self-directed learning and preparation for the program.
Successful applicants will have a strong interest and commitment to social justice, community involvement, and personal development. Fellows will organize logistics and select content for the Symposium, either by choosing speakers, or presenting workshops themselves. Attendance at the Symposium, which will be held in late 2024, is required. Each fellow will receive an honorarium of $400 upon completion of the Symposium. This program is generously sponsored by the Philadelphia City Institute Board of Managers.
Apply here by Friday, September 13, 2024.
