NCAN Webinar to Discuss Parent Engagement Strategies
Join us on Tuesday, October 27 from 2-3:15pm EST and listen in as NCAN Member I Know I Can staff discuss the philosophy behind Blueprint:College, their session structure and topics, school district collaboration, and how they have addressed challenges.
For the past several years, I Know I Can—the college access organization and NCAN member serving Columbus City Schools—has run Blueprint:College, a series of college planning workshops focusing on parent engagement in the higher education process. The series is aimed at engaging parents of students in 6-11th grades with “just in time” information at each grade level about college admissions, financial aid, middle school student development, and solid academic preparation.
Additionally, please bring your own parent engagement strategies to the webinar for a mini-forum where NCAN members can share what has worked (and what hasn’t) in their own programs. This is an exciting opportunity to spread ideas and best practices for the key activity of engaging parents in their students postsecondary ambitions; both programs who are working to develop or launch their own parent engagement program and those with expertise are encouraged to attend (and participate) in the forum.
