PA Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver Program (Youth in Foster Care) – May 1
Posted by I-Lead Inc. on April 19, 2022
Attention youth with experience in the foster care system (and those who work with them:): Financial Aid Deadline for Fall classes is May 1 for MOST PA schools participating in the tuition waiver program (a.k.a. FosterEd). After May 1, only open enrollment schools will be available for Fall classes.
If a youth in your network was in care at age 16 and is now under age 26, they are likely Chafee eligible and can earn a college degree entirely grant funded. This includes youth who aged out! I-LEAD is available to inform and assist youth and staff with financial aid and college applications, facilitate connection to campus support programs highlighted by UPenn’s Field Center, and refer youth to Lenfest Immensitas scholarships for room and board at select institutions.
Please send referrals to [email protected].
