PA Area Health Education Center Scholars Program for Health Professions Students

The Southeast PA Area Health Education Center (AHEC) offers a PA AHEC Scholars Program for health professions students.
Applications are being accepted for the 2025 cohort of the Pennsylvania AHEC Scholars Program. This national, federally funded program is an interprofessional program for health professions students. The program equips future healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to excel in their careers through didactic learning and immersive community-based experiences aimed at fostering empathy and cultural humility. The core topic areas of the program include social determinants of health, cultural competency, interprofessional education, behavioral health integration, practice transformation, and current health issues (such as the opioid crisis and childhood obesity).
