NYLC is currently accepting submissions for the Winter 2002-2003 issue of The Generator, which will feature articles on the theme: Weaving the Fabric of Community: A Celebration of Service-Learning. We invite you to be part of this national forum and encourage you to submit your thoughts on how service-learning can help create stronger communities by weaving and reweaving their fabrics bringing people together who might not otherwise have cause to know and/or work together. We specifically welcome your thoughts on service-learning and community needs assessments, partnerships, and celebration for the next edition.

Desired elements are:

-Articles around the theme. (You may either send the full article or a proposed outline; articles will be 750- 1,500 words and may be edited by staff.)
-Program examples pertaining to the theme. Please include the name of the program, organization/school, grade level & subject, contact information, and two-paragraph description highlighting unique aspects of the program. If accepted for publication, at least one photo of program activities will be requested.
-Research articles pertaining to the theme (same requirements as general articles above).
-Any other resources or ideas along this theme are appreciated.

Please submit articles* to Kristine Klopp at NYLC by Wednesday, January 15, 2003. Questions should be directed to Kristine at (651) 999-7376 or kklopp@nylc.org.
