NPEA Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Symposium – Nov 17-18
Posted by National Partnership for Educational Access on October 19, 2021
Please join us for the National Partnership for Educational Access (NPEA) first-ever Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Symposium on November 17 and 18. Taking place virtually, the symposium will take place over the course of two afternoons and will include five 60-90 minute workshops and an opportunity to network, share experiences, and debrief with attendees.
Building off of the 2021 conference theme of The Urgency of Now: Advancing Educational Equity, Access, and Justice for Students, presenters will address topics such as culturally responsive mental health, collective action, program quality with a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens, creating an anti-bias and anti-racist school/organizational culture, implicit bias, and more. As we venture into a new academic year during a time of continued challenges, we hope you will join us for this opportunity to learn and connect with other education professionals committed to educational equity, access, and justice for historically excluded students and communities.
Presenters and topics include:
- Culturally Responsive Mental Health for Diverse Learners (The Jed Foundation)
- Before DEI: The Work Behind The Work (Leading with Hearts and Minds)
- Providing Equity, Access, and Opportunity to Ensure More Students Graduate High School College & Career Ready: A Collective Action Case Study (Root Cause)
- Racial and Economic Equity Practices are Foundational to Program Excellence (Root Cause)
- Creating an Anti-Bias & Anti-Racist Organization: Microaggressions and Microaffirmations (Pollyanna)
