Dietary Sources of Energy, Solid Fats, and Added Sugars among Children and Adolescents in the United States
A recent study published in the American Dietetic Association journal investigating the largest sources of calories in children and adolescents’ diets finds that desserts, pizza and sugary drinks come out in the lead. Furthermore, this study shows kids are getting 40% of their calories as empty calories.
