Posted by Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool/Youth Development Network (PSAYDN) on June 13, 2023
Propose a project that leverages your ecosystem’s strengths and meets the needs of underserved middle school youth in your region.
Million Girls Moonshot is a national project funded by the STEM Next Opportunity Fund and the Mott Foundation to inspire one million more girls to be excited about STEM in the next five years. In Pennsylvania, we are providing four mini grants of $2,700 each to local ecosystems that want to expand STEM education to underserved middle school youth in out-of-school time (OST) settings within their region. These ecosystems will also receive professional development and leadership opportunities for their educators, the chance to celebrate their work with local or state policymakers, and professional media resources to highlight the project.
Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Proposed impact of the project.
- Million Girls Moonshot’s Four Transformative Areas of Practice*: Equity and Inclusion,Engineering Mindset,Role Models, Mentors and Families, orSTEM Transitions.
*Proposed projects do not need to meet all four Transformative Areas of Practice to be considered.
Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 16. Grantees will be informed they are chosen by July 1; funds will be made available on completion of a letter of agreement (LOA): and the grant year ends March 31, 2024.
