UWGPSNJ seeks Lead for Community Resilience work
The mission of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) is to reduce intergenerational poverty meaningfully and measurably in our region by harnessing, leveraging and strategically investing the collective power of donors, advocates and volunteers. Together, we can help individuals and families break the cycle of poverty.
The Lead, Community Resiliency supports United Way’s mission by leading partnerships that respond to urgent and fundamental needs of communities, including access to food, housing, internet and healthcare. They provide oversight to NJ-211 and 211-SEPA, and work to ensure that 211 is effectively deployed to assist people and communities as they respond to and recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
The Lead manages, monitors and improves our Community Resiliency efforts using data-driven reporting, evaluation, academic research, peer funder experience and feedback from nonprofit practitioners and beneficiaries. They collect, manage, and share knowledge about the work in order to improve strategies and performance, and support organizational collaboration. The Lead works to ensure equitable distribution of resources through targeted outreach, data-informed decision-making and open reporting and communications practices. In partnership with the Managing Director, Capacity Building, the Lead pursues new partnerships and secures funding to expand United Ways impact on the lives of people experiencing poverty and works closely with United Ways Giving team to secure investment in new initiatives.
The Lead is an at-will employee of UWGPSNJ reporting directly to the Managing Director, Capacity Building. They are a member of the Mission Delivery team, the department that leads UWGPSNJs investment strategy and nonprofit partnerships.
