“I AM Philadelphia” Young Voices Contest – Apr 15
Posted by PhillyGoes2College on March 1, 2022
PhillyGoes2College and the Wawa Welcome America Festival are teaming up again this year to bring you the “I Am Philadelphia” young voices contest. Please spread the work to your students!
The “I Am Philadelphia” contest shines a light on the talents and aspirations of Philadelphia’s young people, and winners will take the Welcome America festival stage to share their vision for themselves and the city. This year, students can submit original work in three categories: spoken word performance, musical performance, and visual art. The contest is open to Philadelphia high school students, with submissions due April 15th.
Winners will receive prizes to include performing/displaying their work at this year’s Wawa Welcome America Festival and mentorships by influential figures in Philadelphia’s creative community. This year’s judges will include Philadelphia Poet Laureate Trapeta Mayson; Chill Moody, founder of nicethings MUSIC; Jane Golden, Executive Director of Mural Arts Philadelphia; and more.
View flyers and see important details on how to enter the contest.
