Housing for Everyone Competition – Oct 28

Posted by TD Charitable Foundation on September 28, 2021

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, has launched its sixteenth annual Housing for Everyone grant competition in support of local housing nonprofit organizations’ efforts to aid affordable housing providers’ delivery of critical resident services to individuals and families in need.

According to the foundation, the COVID-19 pandemic has created an increased demand for affordable housing, straining resources and forcing providers to expand their services with limited support. To address increased demands for housing and services due to COVID-19, the TD Charitable Foundation will award thirty-three Housing for Everyone grants totaling $5.8 million. This funding will support capacity building for organizations to address resident services for low- to moderate- income individuals and families.

Grants will be approved at the $150,000, $175,000, and $250,000 levels to eligible organizations working to address current needs, which include but are not limited to workforce development, public benefits enrollment and management, housing navigation and eviction prevention, housing counseling (HUD-certified), and financial coaching and education.

Projects must be located in the competition’s eligible geographic regions, including Northern New England; Southern New England and Upstate New York; Metro New York; Metro Pennsylvania, New Jersey; Metro Mid-South; Metro Florida; and Metro Detroit.

Applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or a state/local governmental entity and not classified as a private foundation; and have a history of providing affordable housing for low- to moderate-income individuals and/or families, or can demonstrate a strong record of creating pathways and facilitating placement of affordable housing for this marginalized group.
