Free Virtual Workshops in Early Literacy and STEM for Spanish-speaking Parents in Philadelphia this June
Posted by Literacy Partners on May 28, 2024
As we embrace the warmth of June, it’s the perfect time to nurture early literacy and STEM skills in our children. La Fuerza de Familias Latinas (LFFL) is excited to offer a series of free virtual workshops tailored to Spanish-speaking parents and caregivers, empowering them with essential tools to cultivate these vital skills in their young ones this summer.
Workshop Methodology:
We use the compelling narrative of the Univision telenovela mini-series “La Fuerza de Creer” and its storytelling power through our STORY ⤻ VOICE ⤻ ACTION sequence. Through collaborative storytelling, we empower parents and caregivers to enhance literacy and STEM learning in everyday moments. Our facilitators guide discussions, centering participant voices and fostering reflection. Then, through practical activities, we reinforce positive attitudes and behaviors, nurturing a love for literacy and curiosity for STEM.
