EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
STEPPINGSTONE FOUNDATION
The Organization
Our client is a not-for-profit organization that develops and implements programs for children from educationally underprivileged backgrounds. The premise of the program is that most children, regardless of circumstance, can achieve at high levels if they are prepared in a focused, demanding academic environment. All Steppingstone programs emphasize rigorous standards and achieve meaningful results. Offices are located in Boston and Philadelphia.

Scope of the Position
The Executive Director is responsible for establishing and building the Philadelphia office, utilizing Boston as a model. The Executive Director will establish the plan for overall office development, expansion of the organization?s programmatic activities, overseeing a staff of five, and management of a $500,000 budget.

Summary of Responsibilities
The Executive Director will be responsible for the following:
–Establishing a plan for the building of the Philadelphia office and program.
–Establishing quality goals and standards by which the program can be measured; insures effectiveness of programs.
–Assisting in the development of a board of directors.

Professional Qualifications
–Bachelors Degree, required. Masters or PhD, highly desirable.
–Specialization in education, organizational management, preferred.
–Minimum of 8 years experience in the field of education and/or organizational management.
–Experience in the field of development and have good contacts in the Philadelphia area and surrounding communities.
–Familiarity with key quantitative factors used in evaluation of organizational performance.
