Equitable Collaboration in Action – Mar 17
Posted by University of Virginia on March 16, 2021
The Institute for Engagement & Negotiation will present a workshop on “Equitable Collaboration,” which involves engagement that is trauma-informed, inclusive, responsive, truth-seeking, deliberative, and adaptive.
Learn about local and regional projects that illustrate elements of Equitable Collaboration, including HEARR (Health Equity & Access in Rural Regions), a local grass-roots collaboration to improve access to health in the Scottsville-Esmont (Central Virginia) region; a mediation involving a historic bridge spanning two counties; and the community-based design process for UVA’s Memorial to Enslaved Laborers.
Founded in 1980, the IEN is a public service organization of UVA’s School of Architecture. They work as facilitators and mediators to help communities, agencies, nonprofits and businesses make sustainable decisions through collaborative approaches, in order to sustain communities ecologically, socially and economically. Open to faculty, staff, students, and the public.
Date and Time: March 17, 2021, 12:00-1:00 PM
