Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner
Ticket Order Form

Arcadia University will be hosting its 17th annual Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner, to be held Monday, November 15, 2010.  This is one of the most important community service programs the University provides, for it brings together the surrounding community with our campus community.

Our purpose for the Empty Bowl Dinner is to provide awareness of the hunger and homelessness that exists in our area and abroad.  Each year the proceeds go to two organizations assisting the hungry and the homeless: one national and one international.  This year the proceeds will go to the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Philadelphia, which is a local agency that provides temporary shelter and food to homeless families.  The second agency is the Heifer Project International, which provides food and income-producing animals as well as training in management and farming around the world to families in need.

On the night of the Empty Bowl Dinner each person will choose one of the donated handcrafted bowls in which they will consume soup donated from the many businesses, schools, and individuals from Arcadia University and the surrounding community.  The bowl is then taken home to serve as a reminder of the many people who eat from an empty bowl everyday.

Admission to the dinner is $12 a ticket for students and $15 for non-students, as well as a non-perishable donation. We will be having four specific seatings, one at 4:30pm, 5:15pm, 6:30pm and 7:15pm. Tickets are on sale now in the Community Service Office in Dilworth Hall. Tickets will also be on sale at the door. Contact Community Service at 215-572-4000. Due to an upsurge of attendees and construction on Arcadia’s campus, we ask that all off-campus attendees park at Cheltenham High School and use the Arcadia provided shuttle. Directions can be downloaded to get you to the parking lot here.
