Developing a Social Sector Pitch Deck
Posted by Social Innovations Journal on November 13, 2017
The purpose of the pitch deck is to develop the marketing materials to effectively market your business idea/innovation. Things to consider include: What is your presentation style, and what is your approach to communication? Utilize storytelling as a tool for success: it makes a personal connection with your audience and makes it easier for the listener to relate to you. Be sure to use your own words and speak clearly and concisely. Consider your audience. Are you pitching to potential investors? Are you trying to attract potential customers? Be concise, and practice your pacing and delivery. Think ahead about potential questions, and be prepared to answer them. Use the following roadmap for planning your pitch in this order: first describe the problem, then the customer, competition, solution, benefit, advantage, message, distribution, revenue, start-up needs, costs, etc. This stage will review the components of the 11 essential slides to include in a pitch deck.
