Workshop targets creating age-friendly neighborhoods
The Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations is sponsoring a workshop for community development professionals on Creating Age-Friendly Neighborhoods on Tuesday, September 21st from 8:30am to 2:30pm at the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, 642 North Broad Street in Philadelphia.
By 2030, adults 65 and older will comprise 20% of the population, doubling in the next 20 years from 35 million to 70 million. At the workshop, community development practitioners, social service providers, urban planners and others will explore how neighborhood development can include this growing population and enrich both the built and social environment for all community members.
