Coordinating Elementary School Tutor, Lutheran Children and Family Services

Posted on: August 24, 2011

Lutheran Children and Family Service (LCFS) is a non-profit human services organization dedicated to protecting and empowering vulnerable children, youth, and families throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. Working in close partnership with faith-based and nonsectarian community organizations throughout the region, LCFS serves its constituents through a diverse range of culturally sensitive ministries of care, nurturing, advocacy, and counseling. LCFS is committed to respectfully serving children and families in need, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, country of origin, gender, disability, or sexual orientation. LCFS is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Children and Family Services (COA) and is a member of the Child Welfare League of America.

LCFS seeks three Coordinating Tutors for our new accredited Supplemental Educational Services (SES) tutoring program in the School District of Philadelphia. Coordinating Tutors must have a Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate and be available from 3:00 – 5 four days per week. Tutors will teach groups of one to five students and will supervise one to three college students who are tutoring their own groups.

Coordinating Tutors are responsible for developing Individual Learning Plans, communicating with parents, and for creating “family work packs” for take-home assignments. Coordinating Tutors are responsible for reports and data entry for this program.

The Coordinating Tutor is an LCFS contractor with an hourly rate of $30 – $35, depending on experience.

LCFS is an EOE.
