Changing the Face of Medicine: Celebrating America’s Women Physicians
Posted by on September 26, 2010
Please plan to join us on October 6 as we open Changing the Face of Medicine: Celebrating America’s Women Physicians, a touring exhibit hosted by the Legacy Center at the Institute for Women’s Health and Leadership of Drexel University College of Medicine.
On its last stop of a five-year tour, Changing the Face of Medicine tells the remarkable story of women’s struggles for the right to study and practice medicine and engage in research. The exhibit is located at the Falls Center, formerly the campus of the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, the world’s first medical school for women. Guests will also see a one-woman, one-act play called “A Lady Alone: Elizabeth Blackwell, First American Woman Doctor.” The play’s author, Lynn Eckert, M.D. of Harvard, will answer questions afterward.
Refreshments and good company will follow at the Falls Center’s Gatehouse Cafe.
