Call for Submissions: Motivos Magazine

Posted by Motivos Magazine on January 19, 2015

We’re looking to promote youth voice, youth art, youth poetry! Please help us get the word out!

Motivos magazine is accepting submissions for our Spring and Summer editions.

Deadlines are January 19th and March 16th.

‘Harmony’ is the unifying theme for the spring edition, while ‘Finding Your Purpose’ is the theme for the summer one. We’re accepting submissions for all four sections of Motivos: Culture, Life, College, and Career Exploration. Please encourage the young adults you interface with to consider sharing their talents and projecting their visions and stories through the pages of Motivos magazine.

Submissions are accepted in English or Spanish or both and should be sent to [email protected]. Full guidelines can be found on our website: http://www.motivosmag.com/submissions.html Writing prompts (strict 150 word limit) for our Community Voice section are attached as is a nomination form for our Inspiration in the Community section. The links will also lead you there.

We’re looking for:

  • Poetry
  • Photography
  • Illustrations
  • Travel and cultural exchange stories and photo essays
  • Life stories, personal reflections, column pitches
  • College student perspectives, tips from experts and insider-advice for college success
  • Interviews with career professionals

Each complete submission received by the deadlines listed will garner one chance to win tickets for author’s entire class (up to 30) or class of their choice (if you live outside of driving distance to Philadelphia so can’t use the tickets) to the Franklin Institute’s Body Worlds Exhibit, good through the end of April, 2015.

Small stipend or FI museum ticket (your choice) and, of course, credit given to submissions that are published.
