Call for Proposals: 2025 Conference on Global Learning – May 30
Posted by American Association of Colleges and Universities on May 27, 2025
Despite significant differences among national systems and local contexts, higher education institutions the world over share fundamental values and purposes that are now under considerable strain from external forces. Meanwhile, the landscape of higher education itself is changing rapidly, as are the requirements for success in the roles our students are preparing to take on—both within their communities and in their future careers. In this moment of uncertainty and change, the AAC&U (American Association of Colleges and Universities) Conference on Global Learning provides a shared space where global educators can pause, reflect, and affirm the essential value of global learning for students, faculty, and staff and for community and workforce partners.
The conference is a unique opportunity to explore critical questions shaping the future of the field: How should we define and articulate global learning in our current contexts? How can we strengthen and better communicate the connections between global learning and student preparation for career success and for local and international engagement? Where can we find the support to navigate this work amid the headwinds currently facing the field? What new technologies and other innovations can help advance our work? Through structured sessions, focused discussions, and community-building activities, we will start and renew conversations that bring together multiple voices and perspectives from across the globe. Join us to find proven solutions to common problems, inspiration for your ongoing work, and a community you can stay connected to well beyond the end of the conference.
The 2025 Conference on Global Learning will showcase the full range of global learning activities, programs, strategies, and approaches that prepare students for work, life, and citizenship in our interconnected world.
AAC&U invites proposals for conference sessions that prepare faculty, staff, and administrators to advance understanding and practice by fully integrating global learning into the educational experiences of all students at institutions of all types. The submission priority deadline is May 30.
