Designed to reach students where they are, Up Next is a groundbreaking mobile messaging campaign that was launched in Fall of 2016 by Michelle Obama’s Better Make Room initiative. The text messaging campaign provides youth across the country with on the spot information, encouragement, and access to the assistance they need to make important college, financial aid, and loan repayment decisions right from their mobile phones.
Through its incorporation of new media and one-on-one advising support, Up Next is revolutionizing how mobile technology can improve college completion outcomes for low-income and minority students. In an effort to expand the reach and impact of the program, Better Make Room is seeking to partner with high schools, colleges, community organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies interested in bringing Up Next directly to their students. Through this partnership Better Make Room will take applications from those interested collaborating and will customize its messaging content for partners to pioneer partner-specific contexts, programs, and priorities.
