Apply for the Philadelphia Board of Education – Apr 29

The Educational Nominating Panel, the entity responsible for submitting names of qualified candidates to the Mayor for selection for the Board of Education of the School District of Philadelphia, is now accepting applications from qualified individuals who are interested in serving on the Board of Education.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022.
Board of Education members are expected to work collectively to oversee all major policy, budgetary, and financial decisions for the School District. Among other duties, the Board of Education appoints and evaluates the Superintendent of Schools, adopts the annual operating and capital budgets, authorizes the receiving or expending of funds, and authorizes charter schools. In addition, Board of Education members are expected to attend regular monthly public meetings, biannual meetings with members of City Council and the Mayor, hearings, committee meetings, and regular visits to public schools.
