AmeriCorps Seniors: American Rescue Plan Funding Opportunity – Feb 3

Posted by AmeriCorps on January 4, 2022

AmeriCorps Seniors is a network of national service programs from AmeriCorps, the federal agency for volunteerism and national service. AmeriCorps provides opportunities for Americans to serve their country domestically, address the nation’s most pressing challenges, improve lives and communities, and strengthen civic engagement. We partner with organizations like yours to create local programs that transform communities using the power of vibrant volunteers age 55 and up.

With the historic signing of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the Biden Administration signaled its strong vote of confidence in the power of national service to help communities meet their needs as they recover from the effects of COVID-19.

We are excited to open an American Rescue Plan Funding Opportunity for organizations new to AmeriCorps Seniors. We are reaching out to encourage eligible community organizations to apply for American Rescue Plan funding through AmeriCorps Seniors.

Our focus with this American Rescue Plan funding opportunity are applicants who can demonstrate how they will engage adults age 55 and over in impactful national service to address one or more of the identified priorities.

AmeriCorps Seniors prioritizes serving communities that are hard-to-reach and/or those that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. We also want to invest in communities that have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely impacted by inequities and underinvestment, such as African American and Tribal communities.

  • Priority issue areas include:
    • health and wellness
    • education
    • food security
    • economic opportunity
