AmeriCorps’ Office of Research and Evaluation invites you to join our Research and Evidence Webinar Series. This webinar series will feature evaluation results on national service investments, information about AmeriCorps efforts to increase evidence capacity across programs, and current research on civic engagement and volunteering.
This month, we are pleased to introduce the first webinar of this series, “Bridging the Research to Practice Gap with an Equitable Lens.”

Study Abstract – Presentation: Bridging the Research to Practice Gap with an Equitable Lens
How can data and evidence be used to inform our efforts to serve communities effectively and equitably? In the AmeriCorps’ Research and Evaluation Impact Webinar, “Bridging the Research to Practice Gap with an Equitable Lens,” AmeriCorps staff and grantees will speak to their expertise in using evidence and research to advance equity in programs.
- Lily Zandniapour will discuss AmeriCorps’ vision and framework and how it supports broader use of evidence to increase access and use of AmeriCorps resources in underserved communities.
- Peter Nelson and Sandra Morán Pulles will share their insights into how they use evidence to inform programmatic investments and incorporate equity into the grantmaking process. Dr. Pulles will speak to inclusion initiatives through building community partnerships.
- Anne Sinclair will provide a behind-the-scenes look at how they have used AmeriCorps’ SCALER Tool to assess evidence and make data-informed decisions when supporting grant implementation.
- Nathanial Benjamin will discuss the importance of developing authentic community partnerships to support equity-, program delivery-, and evidence building-related goals.
