Position Description

JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant
LEVEL: 6
FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt / Part Time
REPORTS TO: Business Office Manager
LOCATION: Abington YMCA
DATE: January 2007

POSITION PURPOSE

Under general supervision, perform a variety of clerical and bookkeeping duties requiring detailed knowledge of policies and procedures in support of the branch operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 Review and process all timecards to ensure that payroll is submitted in a timely manner.
 Prepare paychecks for distribution.
 Coordinate the hiring process. Ensure that all records are maintained in accordance with YMCA policy.
 Ensure that all forms and procedures including pre-employment drug testing are completed in accordance with YMCA policy and procedures.
 Ensure that all new employees attend new staff orientation and all required trainings.
 Maintain payroll and personnel files in accordance with YMCA policy.
 Assist with disbursement vouchers when necessary

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Assist with all administrative office functions
 Perform other related duties as required.
 Participate as a member of the staff team in accomplishing the mission of the YMCA.

REQUIREMENTS
 High School or equivalent with 2-5 years of experience in an administrative work setting.
 Excellent mathematical skills.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 Excellent PC skills, spreadsheet and word processing skills.
