What to Expect

  • Hear insights from Philadelphia’s leading institutions, local government, and business community on strategies to localize and diversify supply chains while advancing economic mobility.
  • Engage in conversations about how anchors can align their purchasing power and investments with community needs to close equity and wealth gaps.

Program Highlights

  • Learn from Kenny Holdsman, President and CEO of Philadelphia Youth Basketball, about the need for community partnerships in supply chains and how anchor relationships can build local supplier capacity.
  • Understand the importance of anchor–small business partnerships for growing local capacity with Craig Williams, CEO of Pride Enterprises, drawing on his experience in construction and development to advance equitable opportunity.
  • Explore practical methods for building sustainable partnerships that drive business growth with Philadelphia business leaders Keith Bethel, Tari Wright, and Ajee Cook.
  • Envision a future of local business growth with the Economy League team and special guest speakers as they share actionable insights on workforce development and inclusive procurement.
  • Connect with leading regional buyers from Philadelphia institutions at our “Cocktails with an Anchor” happy hour, where you can meet procurement and purchasing staff and build relationships with potential clients.

This year’s program will be centered at the state‑of‑the‑art Alan Horwitz “Sixth Man” Center (4250 Wissahickon Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19129), a transformational community investment developed by Philadelphia Youth Basketball in North Philadelphia’s Nicetown neighborhood.
