Employers Needed to Host High School Student Interns
Posted by Mayor's Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity on January 19, 2021
We are currently recruiting employers to host high school student interns in March and thought you might be interested in gaining the support of an intern in your work! We are able to PAY young people to intern at host work sites and provide them professional development and support throughout their internship. (yes, this is WorkReady) The employer/host site just needs to provide the work! Work opportunities/tasks can be done virtually, however we are open to in person experiences in instances when it makes sense for the role and is of course, safe.
Interns must have the opportunity to work a minimum of 10 hours per week starting March 1 – June 30th in order to maximize their experience and earn the maximum amount of wages they are eligible for. We pay intern wages directly to them, the employer just needs to verify their hours. Keep in mind that interns are also balancing school and other personal commitments while interning, it is helpful if some hours are able to be flexible.
